Virginia Peninsula Community College is seeking a Director of Academic and Endpoint Technology to oversee the day-to-day operations of the department. This role is crucial in managing a team responsible for the support and maintenance of in-house computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. The Director will be tasked with installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. Additionally, the position includes support for all audio-visual systems and services, as well as end-user support across all academic and administrative departments. The Director will work closely with the Director of Information Technology to assess the needs and upgrades of all academic spaces. This includes providing necessary training to all employees on new and emerging technologies that align with the strategic goals of the College. The role may also involve special assignments, including assisting the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. Candidates should possess strong supervisory experience and hands-on hardware troubleshooting skills. They should have a general understanding of Active Directory, patch management, and threat assessment, as well as experience managing audio-visual solutions and intelligent display technologies. Familiarity with Microsoft Office365, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom videoconferencing in a college environment is essential. The ideal candidate will have a collaborative mindset and a strong background in customer support, technology facilities maintenance, and academic technology services.
