About the position

The JCC Camp Director is responsible for developing and delivering innovative camp programs and youth activities that align with the mission of the Jewish Community Center. This role involves overseeing all aspects of camp operations, including staffing, curriculum development, and administrative functions, while ensuring the highest standards of safety and security. The Camp Director will engage with families and the community to foster a vibrant camp experience and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver an annual array of camp programs and youth activities.
• Oversee the creation, promotion, staffing, and curriculum of all Camp Chai, specialty camps, and Break camps.
• Maintain safety and security standards for all programs.
• Collaborate with Early Childhood, Youth, and Family engagement professionals to build community.
• Develop and oversee registration and camp administration systems.
• Ensure consistency in policies and procedures across all camps and programs.
• Track progress and evaluate program components for success.
• Collaborate with marketing to develop a strategic camp/youth marketing plan.
• Engage with the community to recruit and retain campers.
• Establish goals and evaluation metrics for camp programs.
• Hire and supervise summer staff and Break camps.
• Work with finance to plan and track program budgets and revenue.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of camp management and administrative experience.
• Knowledge of Jewish culture, heritage, values, and traditions.
• Experience creating and managing budgets.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external parties.
