The Director of CEE Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Conferences, Events & Experiences (CEE) unit, which includes managing the profit and loss (P&L) for IEEE's global conference business. This role is crucial as it involves complete financial oversight for a highly visible operating unit that hosts over 2,000 events in more than 100 countries each year. The Director will work closely with senior staff and volunteer leadership across various operating units, particularly with managing directors of Technical Activities, Member & Geographic Activities, and CEE. In this position, the Director will manage a team of at least six direct reports, along with three indirect reports and temporary staff or interns as needed. The responsibilities include P&L ownership, financial oversight, and accountability for the CEE budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting activities. The Director will also establish and maintain appropriate levels of internal control, support the internal audit process, and act as the lead for the conference business during the year-end audit process. The role requires collaboration with BFS partners assigned to other operating units to ensure consistency in processes and strategies. The Director will serve as a liaison between their assigned operating units and the CFO teams, coordinating updates to technology, processes, and policies related to events. This includes evaluating and recommending future planning and goals for the Managing Director and the business unit. Additionally, the Director will contribute to strategic planning for CEE, assist with scholarly conference finances, and represent CEE with volunteer leaders at various IEEE boards and committees.
