About the position

The Director, Climate Risk (internal title: Senior Associate) at Montrose Environmental Group plays a pivotal role in enhancing and broadening the services offered by the company through the Sustainability and Climate Advisory (SCA) team. As organizations face increasing pressure to understand and address climate risks, opportunities, and impacts, this position is crucial for developing, marketing, and delivering climate risk services and solutions to clients. The Director will collaborate closely with the VP of Sustainability and Climate Advisory and the entire SCA team, engaging in a mix of business development, service development, project management, and staff development. This role requires direct interaction with clients and involves working with a dedicated team of environmental sustainability professionals. The responsibilities of the Director include actively developing new climate-risk-related business through existing client relationships and networking, supporting the development of climate risk services, and leading projects that help clients identify, assess, manage, and quantify the financial impacts of climate-related risks and opportunities. This work aligns with the International Finance Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation's S2 Climate-related Disclosures standard and incorporates the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). Additionally, the role involves identifying key events for sponsorship and collaboration with other Montrose Lines of Business (LOBs) to create cross-selling opportunities.
