About the position

Honeywell is hiring an Internal Communications Director. As the Internal Communications Director at Honeywell, you will develop and execute the communication strategy for Business Transformation, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) within our Energy & Sustainability Solutions (ESS) division. The Internal Communications Director plays a critical role in developing and executing a communication strategy that aligns with our long-term vision and business objectives. In this role you will work closely with senior leaders, business units, HR, legal and external partners to ensure consistent, clear and engaging messages for our employees and stakeholders. You will report directly to our ESS Senior Director of Executive and Internal Communications and you'll work out of our Headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina on a Hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of internal communication strategies and plans for M&A, business transformation and crisis, aligned with the company's vision, values and objectives.
  • Create and manage internal communication materials, including comms plans, key messages, and presentations.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of internal communications activities and initiatives and provide insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Oversee the internal communications channels, tools and processes to deliver timely and relevant information across the organization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on internal communications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with company goals.
  • Align with the Sr. Comms Director and Corporate to support crisis management and develop proactive strategies to mitigate potential issues.
  • Work with a team of internal communications professionals, providing guidance and support to junior communication team members and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in internal communications or related roles, preferably in a global and complex organization.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful internal communication strategies and plans for M&A, change management and crisis situations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences and channels.
  • Creative, strategic and analytical thinker, with the ability to solve problems and adapt to changing needs and priorities.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed and resilient, with the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks and deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations or related field.
  • Master's degree in communications or business administration.
  • Strong leadership, business acumen and stakeholder management skills.
  • Understanding of the technology industry.
  • Knowledge of digital and social media platforms.
