About the position

The Director, Data Analysis & Planning is responsible for collaborating with operations, clinical, quality, and project resources to set strategic direction in the development and maintenance of operational data and reporting tools and the use of that data in process improvement and quality decisions. This position will work in a hybrid model (remote and office) and the ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

Responsibilities

  • Develops forecasting models combined with national benchmarks to chart direction to improve service and reduce administrative costs
  • Provides oversight and accountability in allocation of operations project managers, trainers, and data analysts
  • Ensures education of and coaches project managers, trainers and data analysts in the consistent use of tools
  • Directs maintenance of report documentation and operational reports
  • Ensures that associates deliver high quality, timely services to the Quality areas
  • Develops and implements continual improvement process within the Quality through collection and analysis of current and historical data
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels and evaluates performance of direct reports

Requirements

  • Requires BA/BS and 7-9 years of related experience or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background

Nice-to-haves

  • MA/MS, preferred
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data analysis, employing both qualitative and quantitative methods and demonstrating a proficiency with tools such as SQL, Python, or PowerBI
  • Deep working knowledge of quality improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma or Lean, alongside extensive experience with the HEDIS measurement set, including its implementation, monitoring, and reporting
  • Adept in managing data extraction processes and ensuring comprehensive, accurate, and timely reporting, all while maintaining compliance with NCQA standards
  • A background in healthcare administration or clinical expertise is preferred, bolstering the ability to understand and improve quality metrics
  • Strong leadership skills are necessary for managing cross-functional teams and projects, requiring excellent communication abilities to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and present complex data insights clearly
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills are vital for developing and executing quality improvement initiatives, while a commitment to adaptability and continuous learning is crucial to staying current with healthcare quality reporting trends and advancements
