About the position

Providence is seeking a Director of Finance who will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of assigned ministries. This position is integral to ensuring the financial health and performance of the organization, which is committed to patient-focused, whole-person care. The Director will be responsible for monitoring financial performance, variance reporting, and supporting the achievement of productivity and supply chain targets. This role requires active participation in ministry-level management meetings and serves as a key liaison to accounts payable and payroll processes, providing support to managers and senior leaders throughout the ministries. In addition to financial oversight, the Director will assist in the facilitation of capital projects that have been prioritized and approved through regional and system processes. The role also involves the development of ministry budgets and providing assistance to the senior management team and departmental leaders as they work towards achieving annual and long-term strategies. The Director will be responsible for the development and management of dashboards, ensuring the achievement of internal audit recommendations, and leading special projects as assigned for both the ministry and the region. A critical aspect of this role includes the review of monthly financial statements and partnering with the PSJH accounting team to accurately reflect the economics representative of operational and clinical services. This position is an onsite role, requiring daily presence at the office in Lubbock, Texas. Candidates must be located within a daily commutable distance or be willing to relocate to Lubbock within 1-3 months of the established start date. Relocation assistance will be provided for those moving from another city within Texas or from another state. The work week is Monday through Friday, with a day shift schedule.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • 10+ years of closely related work experience in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare, or Compensation

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • HFMA or FACHE certification
