About the position

The Director of Admission for Graduate & Professional Studies at Baldwin Wallace University is responsible for planning, implementing, and directing various programs and initiatives to meet the enrollment needs of graduate and professional students. This role involves budget management, direct supervision of counseling staff, and collaboration with university stakeholders to enhance recruitment efforts. The director will also participate in admission responsibilities, including travel for recruitment events, application reviews, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the overall recruitment plan for the University's graduate and professional studies programs, particularly in health science and education.
  • Supervise professional counseling staff and graduate interns, including training, management, and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with university stakeholders to advance recruitment initiatives, including deans, faculty, and staff.
  • Establish admission criteria and application requirements in partnership with program directors and academic chairs.
  • Create marketing materials for recruitment goals and update graduate program webpages with the University Relations team.
  • Manage execution of new program launches in collaboration with Enrollment Services and the University.
  • Evaluate applications and manage communication/operations of programs within assigned territories.
  • Designate annual staff territory assignments and monitor progress through weekly meetings.
  • Collaborate on annual reports for program accreditation reviews and manage specified data requests.
  • Manage daily CRM functions including query creation, application review, and event planning.
  • Create daily appointment schedules for in-person and virtual visits through the CRM.
  • Collaborate with Financial Aid to ensure prospective students receive financial aid offers.
  • Manage graduate assistantships in collaboration with the Dean of Graduate Research and Studies.
  • Serve on the Enrollment Leadership Team to establish new admission initiatives and set yearly goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • 4-7 years of middle-management experience in admission or a related area preferred.
  • Strong public relations skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse, team-oriented environment.
  • Leadership, coaching, and teambuilding skills to strengthen relationships.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present effectively to various group sizes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of web and technology's role in marketing.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking skills with problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated competency in data-based decision making.
  • Ability to network and support effective partnerships with key groups.
  • Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver's license required.
