About the position

The Director of Advancement for the College of Engineering is a leadership role focused on fundraising and advancement efforts for the college. This position involves working closely with alumni, corporations, and foundations to secure major gifts, while also collaborating with the Dean and Executive Director to align fundraising strategies with the college's goals. The role requires effective communication, time management, and the ability to represent the university positively in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit and close five and six-figure major gifts for the College of Engineering.
  • Advance the mission and goals of the University and the College of Engineering using agreed-upon metrics.
  • Develop and execute fundraising plans that include identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors.
  • Create an annual operating plan with accountable monetary and activity goals in coordination with the Dean and Executive Director.
  • Participate in prospect management and strategy meetings as a member of the University Advancement team.
  • Assist in developing program funding priorities and related cases for support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in fundraising or advancement roles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Five years of frontline fundraising experience in a higher education advancement setting.
  • Experience in campaign planning/execution and major gift solicitations.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and written communication skills.
