About The Position

The Director of Benefits for North America is responsible for the strategic direction, design, and oversight of all company health and welfare benefit plans. This role aims to align benefits with the company's objectives, enhance employee experience, increase engagement, and support Holcim's goal of being an employer of choice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive North American benefits experience, with at least five years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive experience managing acquisition due diligence and integration.
  • Experience working effectively with all levels of an organization, including front-line employees and executives.
  • Demonstrated experience managing confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for complex and sensitive information.
  • Hands-on leadership with the ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and improvement of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and administration practices.
  • Drive creative design thinking and identify opportunities for benefits program improvements.
  • Provide oversight for union-sponsored Multi Employer Pension Plans (MEPPs).
  • Stay current with laws and regulations in the US and Canada (e.g., ERISA, ACA, HIPAA) and ensure compliance of benefits programs.
  • Manage relationships with benefits providers such as consultants, insurance companies, and wellness program vendors.
  • Develop communication strategies to effectively convey benefits information to employees.
  • Lead employee benefits analysis for acquisition targets and manage integration of benefits post-acquisition.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
