About the position

The Director of Broadcast Services at American Airlines Center is responsible for managing all aspects of broadcast and media services, including audio-visual presentations for third-party events. This role serves as the primary contact for in-house entertainment producers for the Dallas Stars and Mavericks, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality service delivery during events.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules, assigns, plans, monitors, and reviews all broadcast-related construction projects.
  • Supervises full-time and part-time Audio-Visual Technical staff, including scheduling and reviewing their work.
  • Plans and coordinates equipment usage schedules and maintenance procedures.
  • Maintains departmental records and submits reports to maximize revenues and set pricing structures for services.
  • Responds to broadcast and media issues during events, including electronic signage and video replay room management.
  • Schedules and facilitates all video and broadcast content origination in the facility.
  • Assists in preparation of capital and operations budget, ensuring guidelines are met.
  • Works closely with the Dallas Stars and Mavericks on their broadcast needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Broadcasting, Engineering, Communications, or equivalent experience.
  • 8-10 years of experience in major market or national network television production or large facility AV management.
  • 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of component engineering related to house PA and video replay equipment.
  • Experience estimating time and materials for work projects.
  • Ability to solve problems under time constraints.

  • Experience in all aspects of television including engineering, operations, production, and programming.
