About the position

The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the University of North Carolina at Asheville is responsible for developing and executing strategies to secure funding from corporate and foundation partners. This role involves identifying potential partners, cultivating relationships, preparing grant proposals, and ensuring effective stewardship of received funds. The Director will collaborate with university leadership, faculty, and staff to align fundraising efforts with the university's strategic goals and priorities, aiming to achieve significant revenue goals in grants and support.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to secure funding from corporate and foundation partners.
  • Identify potential partners and cultivate relationships with them.
  • Prepare compelling grant proposals and presentations.
  • Ensure effective stewardship of received funds.
  • Collaborate with university leadership, faculty, and staff to align fundraising efforts with strategic goals.
  • Achieve revenue goals of nearly $600K in grants and $2M in support.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, corporate and foundation relations, or a related field, preferably within a higher education setting.
  • Proven track record of securing significant funding from corporate and foundation partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in grant writing or a related position.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and other fundraising tools and technologies.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with potential and current funders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Six (6) or more years of successful experience in higher education fundraising.
  • Experience working on successful comprehensive university fundraising campaigns.
  • Proficiency in database management; experience with Blackbaud products (RE NXT) preferred.

Benefits

  • Salary commensurate with experience, anticipated hiring range $90,000-$120,000.
