About the position

Perdue Farms is seeking a Director of Data Governance to join its IT Leadership team at Corporate HQ in Salisbury, Maryland. This pivotal role is focused on enhancing decision-making processes, optimizing internal business operations, and transforming data into actionable insights. The Director will lead interdisciplinary teams to improve the definition and creation of data across the organization, fostering a strong data culture that permeates all levels of the company. The Director will oversee data governance teams and collaborate with business stewards to establish data governance as a strategic discipline while promoting data literacy throughout the organization. This includes organizing and chairing a data and governance council that convenes at least quarterly. The role also involves identifying and standardizing the use and governance of data in alignment with the enterprise's evolving business strategy. In addition, the Director will define, manage, and advance enterprise information management principles, policies, and programs that ensure stewardship, advocacy, and custodianship of data and analytics. A key responsibility will be to foster a data-driven culture and develop competencies related to data literacy across the organization. The Director will also oversee the development and maintenance of a robust information trust model, including controls for master data and metadata management, as well as reference data. Furthermore, the position will lead regulatory and compliance programs related to data and analytics assets.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Computer or Information Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in data governance or related fields.
  • Proven data literacy with the ability to describe use cases and outcomes, data sources, and management concepts across business and technology domains.
  • Deep experience in integrating complex, cross-corporate processes and information strategies, including technology planning and execution and policy development and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of information systems/tools, related software and data management, enterprise content management, and recordkeeping policies and practices in a complex organizational environment.
