About the position

Job Title: Director of Finance, Americas Vital Materials is a global technology organization with operations in over 20 countries that provides materials, products, and solutions for an extremely diverse group of international markets including semiconductors, infrared and laser optics, consumer electronics, aerospace, construction, automotive, coatings, metallurgy, agriculture, and many others. The Director of Finance is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing Vital Materials Americas financial operations. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Director of Finance is responsible for ensuring the financial health and compliance of the organization. This position plays a pivotal role in strategy development, budgeting, forecasting, controlling, and financial reporting. In this role, the Director of Finance will develop and execute the organization's financial strategy in alignment with its goals and objectives. This includes collaborating with senior management to provide financial insights and recommendations, as well as preparing long-term financial plans, forecasts, and budgets. The Director will oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, and will analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Presenting financial reports to senior management and the board of directors will also be a key responsibility. The Director of Finance will manage the organization's financial resources, including cash flow, investments, and assets, while implementing and monitoring financial controls, policies, and procedures. They will develop annual budgets, ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines, monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost-control measures. Additionally, the Director will assess financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with all financial regulations, laws, and reporting requirements. Leading and mentoring a finance team, including financial analysts, accountants, and other professionals, is essential. The Director will foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance department. They will also oversee the implementation and management of financial systems and software, staying current with financial technology trends to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Finally, the Director will communicate financial information and strategies to internal and external stakeholders, participate in investor relations activities, and communicate with shareholders.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (a master's degree and CPA certification is preferred).
  • Proven experience in finance leadership roles, preferably in a senior finance position.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles, regulations, and best practices.
