About the position

GoodLife Innovations, Inc. is seeking a talented Director of Finance and Accounting (DFA) who aspires to become CFO. This full-time, salary-exempt position is crucial for overseeing the day-to-day accounting and reporting functions of a $35M budget 501c3 organization. The DFA will lead a solid, experienced team and will report directly to the CFO while supporting key C-Level leaders in operations and financial reporting, budget compliance, grant management, and services growth projection management. The current CFO is transitioning to a new role within the organization, and the DFA will play a pivotal role in mentoring or hiring a replacement within the next 12 to 18 months. GoodLife Innovations is a national industry leader in next-generation services that combine innovative service models and advanced technologies to promote independent living for various populations. The DFA will be responsible for delivering efficient accounting systems that are consistent with GAAP and not-for-profit accounting standards. This includes ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, preparing annual budgets, and managing day-to-day accounting operations. The role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to problem-solve and multi-task effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, as the DFA will educate leaders to enhance their financial acumen. The organization utilizes extensive cloud financial software and reporting tools, including Intacct and Google Sites, to support its decentralized services. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of non-profit organizations, GAAP standards, and fund accounting principles, along with experience in state-funded Medicaid and insurance billing. This position offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $125,000, depending on qualifications, along with an attractive benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting and reporting functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • Five years of experience in Senior Accounting management.
  • Strong work ethic with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in cloud financial software and reporting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong knowledge of non-profit organizations and GAAP standards.
  • Experience with state-funded Medicaid and insurance billing.
