About the position

The Director of Finance and Accounting is responsible for directing the accounting and financial activities of RQAW Corporation in compliance with GAAP standards. This role involves providing financial analysis to support business management, overseeing accounting staff, ensuring timely financial reporting, and maintaining accounting policies and procedures. The position requires strong leadership and analytical skills to drive strategic initiatives and improve financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Direct the accounting and financial activities of the organization in compliance with GAAP standards.
• Provide support to the CFO and Division Leads through proactive financial analysis.
• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
• Oversee the monthly accounting close and ensure timely completion of financial statements.
• Ensure monthly bank reconciliations are completed.
• Maintain a best-in-class accounting work-paper system.
• Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Supervise the accounting staff and activities within the accounting department.
• Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and implement departmental budgets and review budget proposals.
• Monitor internal controls and processes for efficiency and accuracy.
• Manage and delegate special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible corporate accounting experience.
• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
• Experience with enterprise level billing applications.

• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is preferred.
