About the position

The Director of Finance at Sheridan Memorial Hospital Association (SMHA) is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial services of the organization. This position ensures that the delivery of quality, cost-effective healthcare services aligns with the mission, vision, values, and goals of SMHA. The Director will manage various accountabilities, including finance, revenue cycle, payroll, and supply chain operations. This role is crucial for program and business development, ensuring the quality of services, and engaging in both short- and long-range planning directly related to these areas. The Director will also be responsible for achieving organizational goals and objectives, maintaining fiscal control, managing revenue and costs, and fostering interdepartmental and intradepartmental relations. Personnel management is also a key component of this role, requiring effective leadership and direction to ensure a high-performing finance team. The Director of Finance will work full-time, committing to 40 hours per week, typically from Monday to Friday. This position is benefit eligible, providing a comprehensive package to support the well-being of the employee. The role demands a strategic thinker who can navigate the complexities of healthcare finance while ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for the financial services of SMHA.
  • Ensure the delivery of quality, cost-effective healthcare services.
  • Manage finance, revenue cycle, payroll, and supply chain operations.
  • Oversee program and business development initiatives.
  • Engage in short- and long-range planning related to financial services.
  • Achieve organizational goals and objectives related to finance.
  • Maintain fiscal control and manage revenue and costs effectively.
  • Foster interdepartmental and intradepartmental relations.
  • Manage personnel and lead the finance team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Master's Degree in Business or Health Care Administration and/or Certified Public Accountant preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of management/leadership experience in an integrated healthcare delivery system.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities related to finance and healthcare management.
  • Current Montana driver's license and ability to be insured to operate SMHA's vehicles.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
