We are hiring a Director of Finance for The Downright Austin, A Renaissance Hotel. The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing the hotel's accounting and financial management functions. This role is crucial as it provides the general manager with meaningful and timely information regarding the hotel's performance. The Director will proactively assist in cost containment, revenue enhancement, and identifying profit improvement opportunities while safeguarding the company's assets. In this position, you will be tasked with protecting the assets of both the corporate office and the hotels. You will provide timely and accurate data that will aid in decision-making processes. Additionally, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and meaningful financial statements to both owners and management. Ensuring that proper controls are in place and monitoring their effectiveness is a key responsibility. You will oversee various areas under the Controller's responsibility, ensuring that operations, including accounts payable and payroll functions, are running effectively and efficiently. Your role will also involve ensuring that controls are in place to minimize losses and maximize profits by retaining revenues, reducing expenses, and safeguarding hotel assets. You will process returned checks through the Ledger and complete check requisitions to reimburse the bank. Any returned checks without valid credit card approval will be sent to collections immediately. You will also be responsible for answering guest questions and conducting research as needed. Maintaining open communication with subordinates, peers, and associates is essential, and you will train associates in the Accounting department to perform their duties in accordance with established objectives, policies, and procedures. Participation in meetings and maintaining accurate records of necessary federal, state, and local reports as required by applicable laws and franchise SOPs will also be part of your responsibilities. You will be responsible for generating end-of-period reports in a timely manner and conducting yourself in a manner that reflects the high standards of professionalism within the Concord Hospitality organization. Following safety and security procedures and adhering to the rules outlined in the Concord Hospitality Associate Handbook is mandatory.
