The Director of Finance for the University Revenue System & Business Services (RSBS) at the University of South Dakota is a pivotal role responsible for enhancing business and financial planning in alignment with the strategic goals of the University. This position will lead all financial and business operations, including budgeting, accounting, revenue projections, and financial modeling for various business scenarios. The Director will provide leadership, oversight, and stewardship for all financial resources while promoting best practices in finance administration within the Revenue System and University Business Services, which encompasses areas such as Housing, the Student Center, the Wellness Center, and Auxiliary Services. Reporting directly to the AVP Finance and Business Services, the Director of Finance will collaborate with university leadership to provide strategic advice and implement financial and administrative objectives, policies, programs, and practices that ensure a robust financial structure for the University's Revenue System and Business Services. The Director will keep all relevant leadership and stakeholders informed about the current financial position of the University's Revenue System and Business Services and will work creatively to foster an environment of excellence through collaboration and innovation. In fulfilling these responsibilities, the Director will continuously evaluate both short and long-term strategic financial objectives, produce forecasts, and model strategic choices and alternatives. The role involves advising on the financial implications of business activities, assessing the costs of strategic priorities, and exploring funding strategies that will support the growth of the University's Revenue System and Business Services. Additionally, the Director will be responsible for all reporting and compliance related to fiscal activity and will lead initiatives aimed at improving efficiencies in financial processes across the areas of financial oversight.
