About the position

The Director of Finance is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department and for assisting and supporting the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in overseeing the financial affairs of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily and month-end duties to include: accounts payable closings, general ledger closings, account reconciliation, inventory reconciliation, and reporting of accruals.
  • Forecast cash requirements and cash position through analysis of budgetary needs, payroll funding, A/P funding and financial reports.
  • Maintains detailed records for all investment activity conducted by the Foundation and Museum. Initiates capital calls and records distributions throughout the year.
  • Coordinates production of all supporting schedules relative to the organization's annual financial audits and tax returns.
  • Records the minutes for the Foundation Board, Audit Committee and the Finance Committee.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in accounting, finance, or other related field is required.
  • Master's degree (M.A./M.B.A.) is desired.
  • Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous accounting and finance experience in a non-for-profit organization is desired.
  • Previous supervisory experience is required.
  • Certified Public Accountant Certification (CPA) is desired.
  • Previous experience working in a museum and/or entertainment park industry is desired.

Nice-to-haves

  • Spanish language skills are desired.
