About the position

The Director of Finance at InterContinental Indianapolis will oversee financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards while enhancing hotel profitability. This role involves managing a team, setting accounting practices, and improving guest experiences through financial management.

Responsibilities

• Managing and coaching the finance team to ensure effective task allocation.
• Setting and maintaining exceptional accounting practice standards and ensuring compliance with financial control procedures.
• Maximizing financial returns through analysis of data trends and market information while budgeting effectively.
• Enhancing guest experience by improving payment options and resolving financial disputes.
• Supervising clerical accounting employees across various functions including Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and Payroll.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting and Finance or equivalent qualification.
• 4-8 years of experience in hotel accounting or auditing, with at least one year in a supervisory role such as Assistant Controller.
• Knowledge of accounting management duties including payroll processing, asset management, and government reporting.
• Professional accounting or finance designation or certification preferred.
• Fluency in local language(s) and knowledge of additional languages is beneficial.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in negotiating hotel space and tenant leases.
• Familiarity with displacement analysis and tax return filing.
