About The Position

The Director of Janitorial Operations at Harvard Maintenance Inc. is responsible for overseeing the operational and financial success of the company's branches, focusing on profitability, efficiency, productivity, employee retention, and customer satisfaction. This senior leadership role requires ensuring that daily activities run smoothly while embodying the company's core values of people first, safety, teamwork, client focus, and accountability.

Requirements

  • Industry experience preferred, especially experienced in structuring operations, from market to building
  • Financial and business acumen, experienced in effectively managing a P&L
  • Organizational savvy
  • Strong leadership and people management skill, success at building teams and developing talent
  • Skilled at leveraging root cause analysis (RCA) and project management tools and processes
  • Demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement efforts and data-driven decision making
  • Technical knowledge of chemicals and equipment
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of (10+) years' experience in managing a janitorial operation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Capability to build trust, value others, communicate effectively, collaborate with others, and solve problems creatively
  • Ability to proactively establish and maintain effective working relations with employees and other departments
  • Technical knowledge of all aspects of janitorial service delivery

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the planning and budgeting process and manage the budget for the region in conjunction with the Vice President of the Region
  • Control overhead expenses within the region
  • Implement cost reduction and profit enhancing strategies
  • Ensure service delivery is consistent with quality objectives and contractual requirements
  • Lead ongoing efforts for process improvement to enhance productivity and increase efficiencies while sustaining a high level of quality
  • Maintain customer relations, both current and prospective
  • Support business development activities within the region including new account acquisition and customer retention initiatives
  • Leverage existing relationships for new business opportunities
  • Develop management team for continued professional growth
  • Ensure the region follows and adheres to established company policies
  • Ensure all hiring, promotions and termination policies are followed
  • Ensure job inspections are properly made and deficiencies are corrected
  • Ensure timekeeping is completed daily and payroll is submitted on a timely basis
  • Ensure purchasing of supplies, equipment and inventory management of the supplies meets contractual requirements
  • Maintain constant contact with the Vice President of the region
  • Ensure Harvard Safety Policies are adhered to and support EH&S Management to build a strong safety culture in the region
