About the position

The Director of Maintenance is responsible for providing strategic direction and management support for the maintenance of store portfolios, refrigeration/HVAC operations, and store operating equipment. This role aims to maximize sales and ensure efficient customer handling while minimizing repair and overhead costs. The Director will oversee maintenance contracting across brand territories and support all stores with maintenance needs, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and management support for store maintenance and operations.
  • Manage financial and operating procedures to maintain store equipment and systems.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage vendor contracts for maintenance services.
  • Attend vendor performance meetings to review data and proposals.
  • Identify savings opportunities through equipment retrofits and operational training.
  • Analyze maintenance supplier spending and prioritize savings opportunities.
  • Develop annual sourcing strategies for maintenance services.
  • Support Divisional Managers in resolving vendor issues and improving processes.
  • Maximize utilization of Service Channel for vendor performance and asset management.
  • Recommend termination of underperforming vendors.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Accounting, or Finance.
  • 5 years of related experience in maintenance management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of building systems design and operation.
  • Ability to present complex information effectively.
  • Conduct basic financial analysis and problem-solving.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in Refrigeration and HVAC.
  • Multi-site Maintenance Management experience.
  • Experience with Service Channel or other CMMS applications.
