The Director of Marketing and Communications is a contract-to-hire position based in San Jose, CA, responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies. This role focuses on enhancing the organization's visibility and engagement through effective content creation, website management, and SEO/SEM strategies. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring high-quality communication across various platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive communications plan targeting key constituencies and building awareness.
• Serve as chief content creator, leading editorial story planning, writing, and editing.
• Develop and maintain a best-in-class website with consistent, user-friendly content while monitoring feedback and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator to oversee all website content, including news, images, calendars, and event landing pages.
• Develop and implement effective SEO and SEM strategies to improve website rankings in search engine results pages.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience in marketing and/or communications, preferably in a leadership role.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities while achieving both short-term and long-range goals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including impeccable grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.
• Proven experience handling cross-functional projects and resolving problems at strategic and tactical levels.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or Public Relations preferred.
