About the position

The Director of Nursing Critical Care Services at Saint Francis Hospital Bartlett is responsible for providing leadership and support to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in overseeing nursing and patient care functions within the hospital. This role involves assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practices across multiple units, ensuring high-quality and safe nursing care while managing resources effectively. The position requires 24/7 accountability for the assigned areas and aims to maintain the competency of clinical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and support to the CNO for nursing and patient care functions.
  • Assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing practices on a multi-unit level.
  • Ensure high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care is delivered.
  • Support the competency of clinical staff and manage resources related to patient care.
  • Serve as a role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing.

Requirements

  • Active and current registered nurse license in the state of residence/practice.
  • Associate degree from an accredited nursing school with a bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or a BSN.
  • Two years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse.
  • Must be currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as required by law.

  • Master's degree in a healthcare-related field (MSN preferred).
  • Proven leadership ability and hospital operational ability.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
