About The Position

The Director of Nursing (DON) at Consulate Health Care of Windsor is responsible for the overall clinical management of the facility, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and safe patient care. This role involves building a resident and family-focused culture, mentoring clinical staff, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The DON will lead the nursing department, set goals, and implement innovative healthcare practices to improve systems and processes.

Requirements

• Current, unencumbered, active state license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• RN Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Two years of experience in nursing services administration.
• Training and/or experience in a setting serving the same age/type of resident population.
• Knowledge of management, planning, and budgeting skills.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to center functions.
• Knowledge of accreditation standards and regulation compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing education, mentorship, and leadership development to clinical management and clinicians.
• Ensure the delivery of high quality, efficient, and safe patient care.
• Set and monitor achievement of goals and objectives for the nursing department.
• Recruit, hire, and retain qualified nursing staff according to staffing plans and state requirements.
• Evaluate and update competency/skills checklists for nursing staff.
• Prepare and assure adherence to an annual operating budget for the nursing department.
• Maintain and guide the implementation of current policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Ensure compliance with resident rights policies and resolve resident grievances.
• Implement new ideas and concepts to improve healthcare systems and processes.
