About The Position

The Director of Nursing (DON) at Spiritus Healthcare is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and the daily operations of a six-bed congregate living facility. This role combines nursing leadership with administrative duties, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and maintaining high standards of patient care.

Requirements

• Must have BSN degree or RN license.
• Previous experience with SNF, congregate living facility or mental illness or addiction medicine preferred but not required.
• Must have knowledge of medical and financial aspects of Residential treatment services and long-term care including budgeting, financial management, staffing, and operations.
• Must have leadership experience and have managed a nursing department or unit.

Responsibilities

• Maintain medical records for patients including checking notes from medical providers, nurses and other clinical staff.
• Responsible for ensuring that supplies and equipment are maintained and accounted for properly.
• Responsible for evaluating each patient on a weekly basis and bringing updates to the Medical Director on any changes in patient condition.
• Responsible for performing patient initial nursing assessments, creating and updating Nursing Care Plans.
• Recruits, hires and trains staff.
• Ensures proper infection control measures are followed according to regulatory standards.
• Ensures facility is in compliance with all regulatory bodies and agencies.
• Assists in developing facility policies as needed and will be present for surveys by regulatory bodies.
• Attends weekly and monthly meetings to provide updates to other managers, pharmacist and Medical Director as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
