About the position

SRO Housing Corporation is a non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to building a healthy community for homeless and very low-income individuals in the Central City East Community of downtown Los Angeles, commonly known as "Skid Row". With over 40 years of experience, SRO Housing has developed a unique insight into the needs of the community it serves, providing over 2,450 units of emergency, transitional, and permanent supportive housing across 33 properties within a two-mile radius. The organization operates with an annual budget exceeding $20,000,000 and employs approximately 190 staff members. The Director of Property Management and Facilities will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for providing leadership in the preservation and management of affordable housing for homeless and low-income individuals in Los Angeles. This role requires a hands-on manager with strong experience in affordable housing property management and non-profit management. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver with excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, demonstrating a proven ability to lead effectively. In this position, the Director will oversee the Property Management Division, providing direct supervision to the Associate Director of Property Management and Facilities Services. Key responsibilities include ensuring that the financial, compliance, and physical aspects of the assets meet industry standards, and that properties operate in accordance with commitments made to lenders, investors, and regulators. The Director will also motivate the team to successfully attain organizational goals, while possessing strong leadership and organizational skills, budget development and management capabilities, and proficiency with MS Office Suites and Yardi Voyager.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • 5 years of experience in Executive Management (required)
  • Strong experience in affordable housing property management and non-profit management.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suites and Yardi Voyager.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Budget development and management experience.
