About the position

The Director of Regional Finance at Canteen is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial activities within the District, specifically focusing on the regions of St. Louis, MO, and Little Rock, AR. This position requires a strategic leader who can ensure that financial statements are prepared accurately, completely, and in a timely manner. The Director will also be responsible for the training and development of all accounting and clerical staff within the District, ensuring that the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively. In addition to managing financial reporting, the Director will provide financial support and guidance to operations, assisting with new business return on investment pro-forma, including conducting risk analysis. The role also involves collaborating with the Sector Finance team to keep operations focused on optimizing working capital. The Director will be expected to perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment. This position is scheduled from Monday through Friday, with travel expectations of up to 25% between St. Louis and Little Rock. The ideal candidate will reside within a commutable distance to either location, facilitating efficient travel between the two sites. Responsibilities

  • Ensures financial statements are prepared in an accurate, complete and timely manner
  • Ensures training and development of all accounting and clerical staff within the District
  • Provides financial support and guidance to operations
  • Assists with new business return on investment pro-forma including risk analysis
  • Assists Sector Finance team with keeping operations focused on optimization of working capital
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent professional experience
  • At least 5 years' relevant experience (including revenue control, financial reporting, cash handling, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with a concentration in Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare monthly financial statements, key metric reports, budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections and analyses
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities and relationships
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
