Director of Software Engineering

About the position

EarnIn is looking for an experienced Director of Engineering to lead part of our Engineering organization. The base salary range for this full-time position is $254,600 - $300,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. This is a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Work with the leadership across EarnIn to deliver our mission: build a financial system that works for everyday people
• Be a strong partner to product and other engineering teams to drive improvements to business metrics around growing our user base and building new features.
• Create a roadmap and drive its implementation with your teams across the company
• Dig into the code when required to help your team with issues requiring senior guidance
• Recruit other great engineers for your team and help in the recruiting efforts for other teams
• Be a mentor and coach for the engineers and managers in your team, and help them advance their careers
• Manage cross-functional relationships with all teams to deliver high-quality products
• Support the team in maintaining a robust level of stability while continuing to execute at great speeds
• Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives at EarnIn

Requirements

• 10+ years of development experience in software development
• Experience building and managing multiple teams that regularly created high-quality output on top of critical infrastructure
• Creative, tenacious problem solver with a get-it-done attitude
• Comfortable working with a cross-functional team made up of PMs, Analysts, and both mobile and back-end-focused engineers
• Ability to inspire others to rise to the occasion and take pride in work
• Ability to create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment
• Software engineer who became a manager with a focus on helping others grow in their careers
• Willingness to roll up sleeves and tackle technical challenges
