About the position

EarnIn is looking for an experienced Director of Engineering to lead our growth engineering organization. The base salary range for this full-time position is $310,500 - $379,500 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. This hybrid position requires in-person work from our Mountain View HQ 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the leadership across EarnIn to deliver our mission: build a financial system that works for everyday people
  • Be a strong partner to product and other engineering teams to drive improvements to business metrics around growing our user base and building new features.
  • Create a roadmap and drive its implementation with your teams across the company
  • Dig into the code when required to help your team with issues requiring senior guidance
  • Recruit other great engineers for your team and help in the recruiting efforts for other teams
  • Be a mentor and coach for the engineers and managers in your team and help them advance their careers
  • Manage cross-functional relationships with all teams to deliver high-quality products
  • Support the team in maintaining a robust level of stability while continuing to execute at great speeds
  • Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives at EarnIn

Requirements

  • 10+ years of development experience in software development, with at least 5+ years in a management capacity leading Growth teams
  • Experience building and managing multiple teams that regularly created high-quality output on top of critical infrastructure
  • Familiarity with growth hacking rapid experimentation while adhering to engineering and operational excellence
  • Creative, tenacious problem solver with a get-it-done attitude
  • Ability to work comfortably with a cross-functional team made up of PMs, Analysts, and both mobile and back-end-focused engineers
  • Standard bearer who takes pride in work and can inspire others
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment
  • Software engineer who became a manager because of great people skills and a desire to help others grow
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves and tackle technical challenges
