The Director plays a crucial role in promoting intellectual growth, artistic and cultural appreciation, and the College's commitments to free expression, viewpoint diversity, and constructive dialogue. The Director serves as a senior campus leader, reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty (VPAA/DOF). This role involves regular collaboration with the College President and engagement with alumni, parents, and members of the Board of Trustees, as well as daily interactions with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds. Many students view the Ath as a second home, and the Director acts as both a formal and informal mentor. By fostering deep connections within the campus community, the Director will gain insights into the intellectual and cultural climate of the campus, enabling the creation of compelling programs that advance campus conversations and prepare students for responsible leadership across various industries.
