About the position

The position supports the business/group leader in developing and maintaining the US Regulatory Relationship, ensuring strong governance and risk management culture. The role involves collaboration with various teams to enhance performance, manage regulatory compliance, and act as a subject matter expert on US prudential regulations. It emphasizes fostering a diverse and inclusive culture while aligning team goals with BMO's purpose and values.

Responsibilities

• Support senior US Leaders in providing risk and control narratives for U.S. Governance.
• Contribute to a strong risk management culture through collaboration with first, second, and third line functions.
• Foster a culture aligned with BMO's purpose, values, and strategy.
• Build interdependent teams that collaborate across functional and operating groups.
• Attract, retain, and enable the career development of top talent.
• Manage team performance, recognize and reward achievements, and coach employees.
• Support the Managing Director in maintaining a strong supervisory relationship.
• Act as the US subject matter expert for US prudential regulator examinations.
• Prepare and brief senior leaders on regulatory matters across multiple businesses/groups.
• Interpret regulatory compliance issues and identify gaps and issues.
• Represent the business/group on Governance/Risk Working Groups/Forums and provide updates.
• Develop, document, and maintain business/group procedures in response to regulatory changes.

Requirements

• Typically 9+ years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience.
