About The Position

The Director of Software Engineering at Remitly will lead the App Platform & Experiences team, focusing on the ownership, operation, and evolution of systems and code bases that support web and native client infrastructure. This role involves defining a multi-year technology strategy, promoting technical innovation, and ensuring operational excellence to support rapid business growth. The director will work closely with cross-functional partners to align technical goals with business objectives and foster leadership talent within the organization.

Requirements

• 8+ years of technical leadership experience
• 5+ years of managing multiple teams and domains
• Experience hiring and leading Engineering Managers and Principal Engineers
• Experience with engineering workforce planning and design
• Examples of creating customer experiences and building distributed systems
• Experience working with executives to align technical goals with business goals
• Experience with evolving industry standards and technologies

• Lead decisions related to Remitly's technical direction and strategy
