About The Position

The position involves the cleaning and sanitization of cooking utensils and service ware to ensure that cooks, bus persons, and food servers have the necessary equipment for providing a quality dining experience for guests. The role also includes maintaining cleanliness in the physical surroundings of the kitchen and dining areas, adhering to health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card.
  • Knowledge of maintaining service ware to enhance guest experience.
  • Ability to operate commercial kitchen dishwashing machines according to hotel and health department standards.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions for safe application of products.

Responsibilities

  • Sort soiled ware for proper cleaning through dish or pot machines.
  • Wash all ware quickly and replace in designated storage areas.
  • Keep the dish machine cleaned and filled with water according to hotel standards.
  • Clean kettles, tilt skillets, pots, and pans promptly for cooks.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned.
  • Clean and dry floors to prevent slip/fall accidents.
  • Separate linen from other debris.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Follow safety and security procedures and rules.
  • Know department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Utilize protective equipment and report unsafe conditions to management.
  • Report accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage, or loss to management.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
  • Assist other kitchen personnel as needed.
