About the position

The Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for overseeing dispatch activities within a field service operations company. This role involves managing day-to-day dispatch functions, coordinating with field teams, and ensuring optimal scheduling to meet service standards. The Dispatch Supervisor plays a critical role in providing real-time support to field staff, maintaining excellent communication, and contributing to overall customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate dispatch activities to optimize schedules for field service technicians.
• Oversee work order assignment, monitoring technician progress to ensure timely completion.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for field staff, providing support and troubleshooting as needed.
• Analyze service requests to prioritize urgent cases and effectively allocate resources.
• Utilize dispatch software and tracking tools to monitor service operations.
• Collaborate with management to identify areas for operational improvements and implement streamlined processes.
• Assist with training and mentoring new dispatch team members.

Requirements

• Proven experience in dispatching, scheduling, or logistics within a field service, maintenance, or similar environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a field and dispatch team.
• Excellent communication skills, able to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced setting.
• Familiarity with dispatching software and tools; proficient in MS Office Suite.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility with schedule, including availability for occasional weekend shifts or extended hours.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in a supervisory dispatch role or 5+ years of experience as a dispatcher.
• Knowledge of best practices in field service operations and scheduling.
