About the position

The District/Operations Specialist at Kroger is responsible for assessing and enhancing the operational effectiveness of stores to ensure exceptional customer experiences. This role involves serving as a liaison between store management and Retail Operations, analyzing performance metrics, and implementing strategies to improve sales, safety, and overall store operations. The specialist will also facilitate communication and collaboration among various stakeholders to drive operational excellence and adherence to company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assess each store's ability to exceed customer expectations for shopping ease, service, variety, freshness, cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory conditions.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and liaison with Retail Operations to provide feedback on operational plans and systems.
  • Work with store management to identify opportunities, analyze reports, and make recommendations to improve sales, shrink, safety, profit, and customer experience.
  • Facilitate meetings of varying sizes and scopes to drive change initiatives.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues affected by various applications in collaboration with district managers.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and company policies regarding applications and programs.
  • Review operational measures with store leaders and district managers to ensure performance goals are met.
  • Travel to various store locations to provide necessary support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, conflict management, and problem resolution skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to recognize and protect highly confidential information
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with committees and peer groups
  • Strong skills in leadership and interpersonal relationship building.

  • Experience as an assistant store leader
  • Training curriculum facilitation certifications
  • Experience with ELMS manager, expense, and sustainability management.
