The Division Chief for the Field Audit and Compliance Division (FACD) at the Employment Development Department (EDD) is a pivotal leadership role that focuses on the administration of Employment Tax Audit and Compliance Development Operation programs across California. This position operates under the administrative direction of the Tax Branch Deputy Director and is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, facilitating, and evaluating the division's programs. The Chief will establish and implement the division's mission in alignment with the broader objectives of the Tax Branch and the Department. This role requires a strong emphasis on collaboration and teamwork, recognizing that diverse perspectives lead to innovative solutions that benefit the community and the state. In this executive position, the Chief will provide consultation and guidance to subordinate managers statewide, ensuring effective management and control of budgeted resources. The incumbent will work closely with division management to develop strategic goals, monitor program outcomes, and assess work performance. Additionally, the Chief will be tasked with developing and modifying work processes to meet performance goals effectively. This role is crucial in addressing issues related to tax audits, the underground economy, and fraud, thereby contributing significantly to the economic growth and integrity of California's tax system.
