About The Position

The Warehouse Dockworker at Frozen Food Express is responsible for loading and unloading trailers in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and safety of operations, ensuring that goods are handled properly and that the dock area is kept organized. Requirements

• One year forklift operating experience
• Pallet Jack experience
• Ability to work any shift, for any of the 7 days of the week, as well as overtime as needed
• Experience in a freezer/cooler warehouse environment
• Ability to abide by and enforce the policies and procedures of FFE
• Timely and efficient completion of tasks and responsibilities
• Promote teamwork and cooperative effort

Nice To Haves

• Previous warehouse experience in the transportation industry at companies like Amazon, FedEx, or United Parcel Service
• A desire to learn and succeed in a fast-paced environment working alongside top management in the industry

Responsibilities

• Proper loading in and out of trailers
• Handle goods and equipment properly to avoid damage or breakage
• Sort and label skids and place in proper locations
• Perform inventory count based on bills of lading, trailer manifests or packing slips when loading and unloading goods and when loading and unloading shipments and returns
• Assist drivers in loading / unloading of goods or equipment
• Perform daily routine inspection to forklift
• Maintain good housekeeping around dock area
• Stack goods neatly and safely
• Submit needed reports and information in a timely manner
• Perform basic arithmetical calculations including addition, subtraction, division and multiplication
• Assist supervisor in providing on the job training to new staff, participants, clients and volunteers
• Load and secure shipments according to proper procedure
• Understand and implement safe, efficient freight handling and lifting procedures
• Regular and reliable attendance is required
• Other duties as assigned
