About The Position

The Document Control Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining technical documents and manufacturing specifications, managing part numbers, and overseeing changes to all engineering documentation. This role is crucial in ensuring that all documentation adheres to technical standards and is accurately maintained within the company's ERP system.

Requirements

  • 3 years' experience working with fiber optic technical drawings, preferred.
  • 3 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years' experience working with an ERP system, Oracle.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; solid experience with other MS Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Experience with Solidworks & PDM preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains documents in accordance with all technical standards, including BOMs, Specifications, SOPs, Work Instructions, Schematics, etc.
  • Manages new requests, engineering changes & tasks with professionalism, executing a high volume of data entry and maintaining control of changes in ERP with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Creates and maintains comprehensive tables of data in Excel and other database systems.
  • May create product numbers for new products or modifications to existing products.
  • Manages changes of documentation utilizing data management software.
  • Maintains an archive of documentation and part numbers.
  • Creates engineering reports related to department metrics.
  • Monitors reports to ensure proper ERP data entry implementation.
  • Adheres to and promotes the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL.
