Dog Walker/Pet Sitter

About the position

We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and energetic Dog Walker to join our team at Bark Apple Dog Care LLC. The Dog Walker will be responsible for providing safe, engaging, and fun walking experiences for our clients' dogs, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and care during each outing while adhering to specific instructions from pet owners.

Responsibilities

• Walk dogs on a set schedule in various NYC neighborhoods
• Provide basic care such as giving water, treats, and monitoring the dogs' well-being during the walk
• Clean up after dogs during walks and adhere to local pet ordinances
• Ensure the safety of all dogs in your care and remain vigilant in traffic and crowded areas
• Follow any specific instructions provided by pet owners regarding the dog's health or exercise routine
• Offer excellent customer service and build strong relationships with clients

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Experience handling and caring for dogs of all sizes and temperaments
• A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being
• Ability to manage multiple dogs on-leash at once (no more than 3)
• Good physical stamina and ability to walk for extended periods
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
• Ability to handle unexpected situations calmly (e.g., dog behavioral issues, street distractions)
• A smartphone with GPS tracking capabilities
• Availability during mornings and afternoons
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Nice-to-haves

• Pet First Aid and CPR certification (preferred but not required)
• Valid driver's license (optional depending on area coverage)
