About The Position

As a Systems Engineering Technician for Tactical Control Systems at Actalent, you will play a vital role in supporting system software and architecture design. This position is essential for delivering high-quality software to the US and Royal Australian Navies. The role involves collaboration with a cross-functional team and requires experience in Systems Engineering requirements processes, particularly for candidates with a background in the US Navy's Submarine Force.

Requirements

• Experience in Systems Engineering requirements processes.
• Experience with AN/BYG-1 TI18 APB19 or later Combat Control System.
• Proficiency in IBM Rational DOORS.
• Familiarity with the SAFe Agile Process Framework.
• Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience).
• Department of Defense Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain it.

Nice To Haves

• Prior submarine service as either a Fire Control Technician (FT) or Sonar Technician Submarines (STS).
• Experience in sonar or fire control technician work.
• Experience in model-based system engineering (MBSE) and SysML.
• US citizenship due to the nature of work performed within our facilities.

Responsibilities

• Support system software and architecture design for Tactical Control Systems.
• Participate in the design and review of Functional Design Documents (FDDs) for customer review.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to ensure the highest quality software is delivered.
• Learn and implement new tools such as Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), SysML, and IBM Rational DOORS.
• Train regular systems engineers to use modeling software like MagicDraw.
