About The Position

This position works under moderate supervision to manage the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC) project development and resources from beginning through project completion. Join the Office of Community Outreach, Engagement and Equity at the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center at UTSW. We are seeking an outstanding project manager who is passionate about fostering collective impact to reduce the burden of cancer in North Texas. You are committed to identifying best practices in public health, leading continuous quality improvement efforts and monitoring impact with clear metrics to maximize resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • 6 years experience in a healthcare or academic environment, including at least two (2) years experience in project management.

  • Project Management Professional certification and/or experience with a collective impact model.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Outreach Professional Learning Collaborative and facilitate collective impact to reduce the cancer burden in North Texas.
  • Plan, manage and execute special, innovative outreach events and activities including conferences, health awareness events.
  • Facilitate bidirectional communication between the office and a range of community organizations to address health disparities.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with Simmons Cancer Center leadership; develop project plans, timelines, and associated communications documents; clearly and timely communicate project expectations to team members and management.
  • Act as liaison between SCC and other UTSW departments, divisions, and centers. Estimate resources and participants needed to achieve project goals, and secure buy-in from necessary participants.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other principals; delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel; identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team; identify and manage project issues.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools; track project milestones and deliverables; develop and deliver progress reports.
  • Compose, edit, or delegate responsibilities to create policy, procedure, and form documents based on project outcomes. Align business processes with systems changes and provide a mechanism to deliver information to staff and/or faculty as necessary.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
  • May supervise staff in performance of duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
