About The Position

The Van Driver at Benchmark Senior Living is responsible for providing safe transportation for community residents, assisting with their mobility needs, and supporting activities that require van transportation. This part-time role involves planning and coordinating transportation for various activities while ensuring the safety and comfort of residents during transit.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent certificate preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Demonstrated interest in the elderly and knowledge of servicing their needs.
• Demonstrated activities/recreational experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe transportation for community residents.
• Assist residents in getting in and out of the van to ensure their safety.
• Maintain a current understanding of procedures in case of an accident with the van.
• Monitor individual resident needs in ambulation.
• Act as Activity Assistant during excursions, staying with the group except when parking the van.
• Assist in planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating activities.
• Maintain vehicles in accordance with warranty requirements and internal maintenance plans.
• Assist the Community Sales Team with sales and marketing programs and initiatives.
• Participate in in-service training as required by state regulations.
