About the position
The Center for Humanistic Change of NJ, Inc. (CHCNJ) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual for the position of Direct Support Professional (DSP) at the CHCNJ Bloomingdale Group Home. This full-time Overnight Awake position is designed for individuals who are committed to providing support and encouragement to those with developmental disabilities. The DSP will work a 40-hour schedule covering Sunday through Wednesday nights, ensuring that the residents receive the care and assistance they need during overnight hours. The role is crucial in helping individuals navigate the challenges of daily life, promoting their independence, dignity, and personal growth. As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for creating a positive and inclusive environment for the residents, fostering a sense of acceptance and belonging. You will engage with individuals in meaningful ways, assisting them with daily activities and encouraging their participation in various programs and services. CHCNJ prides itself on its personalized approach, and as a DSP, you will play a vital role in implementing this philosophy in your interactions with the residents. No previous experience as a DSP is required, as all necessary training will be provided after hire. This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $20.50, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes generous paid vacation, holiday, personal, and sick time. Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Basic computer skills are necessary.
- Valid driver's license in New Jersey is required.
- Acceptable driving record is mandatory.
