About The Position

The DSPS Testing Center Coordinator at Cuesta College is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Disabled Student Programs and Services (DSPS) testing center. This role involves proctoring, scheduling, and securing individually accommodated exams for students with qualifying disabilities. The coordinator will work primarily at the San Luis Obispo campus, with occasional support at the North County Campus in Paso Robles. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and security procedures. The coordinator will also act as a liaison between students with disabilities and their instructors, ensuring that accommodations are met and supporting student learning outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of experience in a DSPS office or similar post-secondary student support setting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration of exams for students with disabilities, ensuring individual accommodations are followed.
  • Coordinate and schedule testing dates and times, maintaining a master calendar.
  • Supervise and schedule temporary student employees for adequate coverage.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty, staff, and students regarding exam coordination.
  • Interview, hire, recruit, train, and evaluate temporary/student employees.
  • Implement secure procedures for exam delivery and logging.
  • Ensure alternate formats of exams are created and available.
  • Provide assistive hardware and software support for test takers.
  • Maintain a secure testing environment and report any irregularities.
  • Maintain a database for scheduling and reporting testing information.
  • Coordinate the delivery of testing accommodations with other campus units.
  • Maintain testing supplies and recommend new purchases.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
