About the position

Roseville Area Schools has a vacancy for an Early Childhood Special Education Secretary (office support level E) at Anpétu Téca Education Center. This position is designed to provide essential office support to the Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Supervisor and licensed staff. The role is structured for 8 hours per day, adhering to a 170-day work calendar, with the potential for additional hours during the summer months. The ECSE Secretary will play a crucial role in facilitating the special education due process, which includes managing referral and enrollment processes, year-end reporting, and maintaining special education files. In addition to these responsibilities, the ECSE Secretary will oversee transportation processes, order necessary supplies and materials, manage absence reporting, and greet parents and substitutes. The role also involves handling mailings and performing various clerical duties that support the overall functioning of the ECSE program. This position is vital in ensuring that the administrative aspects of the ECSE program run smoothly, allowing the educational staff to focus on providing quality education to students. The anticipated start date for this position is August 30, 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Support the ECSE Supervisor and licensed staff with special education due process including referral and enrollment processes.
  • Manage year-end reporting and maintain special education files.
  • Oversee transportation processes for students.
  • Order supplies and materials as needed for the ECSE program.
  • Handle absence reporting and maintain accurate records.
  • Greet parents and substitutes, providing excellent customer service.
  • Manage mailings and perform other clerical duties as required.

Requirements

  • Experience in office administrative support.
  • Strong skills in organization and record keeping.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing work requests.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Drive applications.
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Some clerical experience preferred.
  • Experience with MARSS reporting and special education due process preferred.
