The Learning Services Secretary position at the Berkley School District is designed to provide comprehensive administrative support to both the Teaching and Learning Department and the Student Services Department. This role is crucial in facilitating smooth operations and effective communication within and between these departments. The secretary will manage day-to-day administrative tasks, coordinate meetings and events, maintain accurate records, and serve as a reliable point of contact for staff, students, and external stakeholders. The position requires a commitment to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of department activities. The secretary will be responsible for handling various office and clerical responsibilities assigned by the Directors of Teaching and Learning and Student Services. This includes managing phone and email correspondence, assisting with the pupil accounting process, maintaining special education files, and preparing accurate count reports for submission to Oakland Schools, particularly concerning at-risk and special education students. The role also involves creating and maintaining databases for Special Education data related to State M-Step and MI-Access Test data for all Special Education students, as well as assisting with assessment management in systems like Illuminate, NWEA, and College Board. In addition to these responsibilities, the secretary will coordinate Medicaid procedures and perform other related duties as assigned. The position is classified under the Berkley Educational Secretaries Association (BESA) and is expected to work 37.5 hours per week for 44 weeks, aligning with the teacher calendar.
