About the position

Eaton is seeking motivated individuals to join our Early Talent Programs, specifically in the role of Field Service Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for providing solutions to our customers' power problems at every stage of the power system. Your assignments will include working on electrical equipment projects, delivering technical solutions, and performing complex engineering tasks that may involve equipment design, testing, and research investigations. You will also be expected to generate accurate service reports and display proficiency in various technical areas such as test equipment operation, troubleshooting techniques, and power quality measurements. Eaton's Field Service Engineer role is not just about technical expertise; it is also about personal and professional growth. Responsibilities

  • Work on assigned projects for electrical equipment
  • Deliver technical solutions to customers
  • Perform complex engineering assignments involving equipment or product design, testing of materials, process studies, or research investigations
  • Generate timely and accurate service reports on work, product performance, and warranties
  • Display proficiency in test equipment operation, troubleshooting techniques, protective relays, power quality measurements, disaster recovery, rotating machinery, and protection & control design

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering from an accredited institution, with graduation date before August of 2025
  • Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8
  • Minimum of one internship/co-op experience or an equivalent 3 months of experience in a technician or maintenance role working on or with machines, vehicles or large equipment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship now and in the future
  • Must be geographically flexible to relocate within the United States
  • Must have a valid and unrestricted driver's license and must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in engineering with a major in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or mechatronics from an accredited institution
  • Overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Prior work experience within the electrical/power industry
  • Experience in testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems
  • Experience performing power quality measurements, troubleshooting, analysis as well as protective relays
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or community
