As a Field Service Engineer, you will be part of the largest and most experienced team of field service technicians and engineers in the industry. Your role will involve providing solutions to customers' power problems at every stage of the power system. You will work on assigned projects related to electrical equipment, delivering technical solutions and performing complex engineering assignments that may include equipment design, testing of materials, and research investigations. Proficiency in test equipment operation, troubleshooting techniques, protective relays, and power quality measurements will be essential. You will also be responsible for generating timely and accurate service reports on work, product performance, and warranties. This position is structured to prepare you for both technical and future leadership roles at Eaton. You will receive a comprehensive training and development curriculum that includes instructor-led sessions, virtual classrooms, eLearning courses, and on-the-job training provided by expert mentors and team members. The role offers a guaranteed 40-hour base pay, eligibility for overtime and travel premiums, and a company vehicle, toolkit, and phone. Additionally, tuition assistance for ongoing learning and opportunities for career growth and mentorship are integral parts of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Work on assigned projects for electrical equipment
  • Deliver technical solutions to customers
  • Perform less conventional complex engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product design, testing of materials, process studies, or research investigations
  • Display proficiency in Test Equipment Operation, Troubleshooting Techniques, Protective Relays, Power Quality Measurements, Disaster Recovery, Rotating Machinery, Protection & Control Design
  • Generate timely and accurate service reports on work, product performance, and warranties

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering from an accredited institution, with graduation date before August of 2025
  • Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8
  • Minimum of one internship/co-op experience or an equivalent 3 months of experience in a technician or maintenance role working on or with machines, vehicles or large equipment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship now and in the future
  • Must be geographically flexible to relocate within the United States
  • Must have a valid and unrestricted driver's license and must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in engineering with a major in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or mechatronics from an accredited institution
  • Overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Prior work experience within the electrical/power industry
  • Experience in testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems
  • Experience performing power quality measurements, troubleshooting, analysis as well as protective relays
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or community
